I live in the Bay Area, what resources are available to help?

We are excited to share our Coronavirus Resources Finder, it is anonymous and easy to use.

Other local resources are listed below:

  • Overview of general assistance  - United Way Bay Area is an easy way to search for available help in your county of residence.

  • Employers -
    • Low-interest business loans ranging from $2,600 to $250,000 are available through Opportunity Fund (open to the state of California).
    • Resource page from the California State Assembly’s Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy.

  • Food Assistance -
    • Access lists for free food pantries, free medical, and free shelter in San Francisco. We recommend calling the agencies ahead of time.
  • Healthcare - United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has stated it will not consider treatment or preventive care related to COVID-19 as part of the public charge inadmissibility determination. If you are undocumented, you may still qualify for emergency Medi-Cal, you can start your application here. Do not hesitate to seek healthcare if you feel you are ill. You can search for low-cost clinics here.

  • Housing - HomeownershipSF compiled a live resource folder at bit.ly/SFHousingResources for various San Francisco resource materials you may refer to and share to help with your housing needs. Materials include resources to assist with housing search, affordable housing applications, COVID-19 assistance resources, general information on the San Francisco affordable housing programs, housing application tips & tools, and additional resource information.
