What do I need to qualify for a Lending Circle?

Before you join a Lending Circle, you will need to complete an application on MAF's website and provide some documentation. When we review your application, we look to make sure that making monthly contributions will not pose a financial strain on you. To apply, you will need the following:

• An active email account
• Proof of checking account ownership, such as one of the following:
• Voided check
• Bank statement that shows the checking account number and the applicant’s name printed
• Other official bank documentation that includes your name and checking account & routing number
• Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)
• Valid government-issued identification, such as one of the following:
• Driver’s license
• Passport
• State ID
• City ID
• Consulate ID
• Proof of income, of which any of the following options will satisfy the requirement:
• Pay stubs (2 consecutive months worth, gross earnings)
• Bank statements (3 consecutive months that show complete record of deposits)
• Benefits letter
